Sonja Belle is the Managing Director of Occupational Fitness Solutions.
Sonja’s experience has been in injury management working in a variety of Workers Compensation systems (Western Australia, New South Wales and the National framework including ComCare and Seacare) to assist injured workers back to work through a case management model.
During her 18 years in occupational medicine, Sonja’s clinical work has included the management of long term, high cost, and complex workers compensation cases, training organisations in best practice injury management, quality and project management of various OHS projects, mentoring and management of Injury Management Advisors. She has worked at Curtin University as a tutor within the School of Occupational Therapy and continues to be a guest lecturer.
Her postgraduate degree in Human Resource Management compliments many of the services Sonja provides to corporations.
Sonja is a member of the Australian Institute of Management (AIM) and Australian Rehabilitation Providers Association (ARPA). She is a Registered Occupational Therapist.
B.App.Sc (Physio), Grad. Dip. Sports Physio
Michael Wood is the Co-Director of Occupational Fitness Solutions and Principal of our sister company, MTM Physiotherapy.
Michael’s 30 years of postgraduate experience as well as his recognition as one of Australia’s leaders in Sports Physiotherapy, (Michael was awarded with an Australian Sports Medal for his excellent service to Australian sport in 2000), have attributed to him working for many years in the role of Senior Physiotherapist/Injury Management Director with several Western Australian and Australian sports teams. These have included the Australian Men’s Hockey Team (Kookaburras), the AIS Men’s Hockey program, WAIS, Perth Glory Soccer Club, Western Force, Subiaco Football Club and Young Matilda’s.
Michael’s career has taken him to International sporting competitions including the 2006 and 1998 Commonwealth Games (Melbourne and Kuala Lumpur), Hockey World Cup (Pakistan), and Champions Trophy (Malaysia) as well as the National Soccer League Grand Final both in Perth and in Sydney. He recently was a guest lecturer at the Indonesian Olympic Sports Medicine Conference (2010) in Jakarta. He is a consultant lecturer at the University of Western Australia and Edith Cowan University School of Physiotherapy.
Within his role at Occupational Fitness Solutions, Michael works closely with corporate groups to use his excellence in musculoskeletal medicine to assist with the development of pre-employment medicals, mentor and educate in injury management, review the need and benefit of ongoing clinical physiotherapy, develop and manage outcome based exercise programs, as well as develop preventative programs aimed at reducing employee illness and injury.
Michael has recently been working within the Western Australian mining sector specialising in the review and recommendation of employee fitness for work, pre-employments and injury management.
